The Citizens Three-Nil Manchester United: Lauren Hemp scores in City dominant win.

Just as the recent storm hit the north-west the night before, Manchester City swept United away at the their home ground. It was a convincing three goal victory for the City coach's side owing to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their championship potential as they consolidated their standing at the top of the table.

Successive Losses for United

This result signalled back-to-back Women's Super League defeats for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since May 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the league leaders with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.

United’s capacity to manage domestic and European soccer with a small squad has been a widely debated issue since they qualified for the European competition. Reviewing the schedule, it always appeared this was the week that would seriously challenge this ability.
